My 18month old has been ill all today but tonight got really hot, my thermometer isn't great, but 38.7 up to 39.3 and Calpol hasn't brought it down in the last hour. He's not eaten. Has patches of red spotty rash that weren't going completely under glass and his breathing keeps going raspy and shallow (a though typically he looks brighter now we're here). I know it's probably nothing, and DH thinks in overreacting, but I figured better safe than sorry yes!?

He is in the right place and getting good care - that is all that matters just now. Well done for being alert to his symptoms and not deterred from taking him in by the feeling that you might be over-reacting. Better safe than sorry.

I feel for you. It's so stressful being in the hospital. Can you and your partner swap over so you can get home for a few hours sleep. I remember when I stayed overnight with dd for her breathing. I hardly slept so was a wreck the next day. Hope your little one feels better soon. And take care of yourself too.
