Baby.Go nappy change packs - any good?

Saw these advertised in my Bounty Pack Mag and thought they may be just what I need ....
they claim to be "everything you need for a single nappy change" and include a nappy, wet wipes, hand wipes and a change mat
think this is the website www.babygonappychange.com, I'm useless at links but I'll have a go: babygo
BUT are they as good as they sound??????

All experiences good, bad or ugly (infact, especially ugly for amusement factor) appreciated

Cheers

but what's wrong with just slinging a nappy and some wipes into whatever bag you've got or in a corner of the car for emergencies?
think it's a bit of a gimmick

SoupDragon · 10/01/2007 13:42

Gimmick and a waste of money. I kept a wash bag type thing in the car with a nappy, the tail end of a packet of wipes, a sack and a muslin cloth as a change mat.

first years do an excellent pack for about £8, or £10 for the deluxe version. it's a changing mat with pockets for nappies and wipes, very neat. just keep it stocked and in your bag.
here
ust ask someone for it as a present.

UniSarah · 10/01/2007 16:46

waste of money I recon. maybe its the sort of thing you would buy from a vending machine in an emergency at the airport, but I'd not use them as a regular item. WAY cheaper to use bits from stock.

goingfor3 · 10/01/2007 16:52

What a waste. A disposable changing mat! More people are using cloth nappies to be enviromentally aware and there people are encouring us to use dispoable changing mats!

izzygetsbusy · 10/01/2007 18:35

Oh.

I thought £1 for emergencies, stashed in my handbag or glove compartment didn't sound too bad for guarunteed hygiene and handines.

Guess I'm the only one who forgets the post swim nappy and has to beg from strangers.

I'll just crawl under the sofa and hide for a day or two.

I have just bought a mat thing like Aitch linked to, ds2 is 18 months and I don't need a great big bag anymore but I can put a reusable nappy, wipes, nappysacks etc in that and leave it in the car for when we are out and about or just stick it in the bottom of the buggy. I have alcohol gel in my handbag for clean hands

misdee · 10/01/2007 18:39

just pack one of these and leave it in your car. add a small alcohol gel bottle, and your set.

SoupDragon · 10/01/2007 18:42

But Izzy, if you remember to have one of those stashed in your bag/glove compartment, you can remember to have one of your usual nappies, some wipes and a muslin stashed there. The nappies will be what you're used to, probably better quality and as your baby grows, you can replace it with the proper size.

OK OK - I get the point

Meanwhile I've found a rather dusty peanut under here.

Yum.

if you do buy them, by the way, i guarantee you that you'll find them in your glove compartment five years hence. i'm speaking as the proud owner of four completely intact tommee tippee disposable bottles that i bought for 'emergencies'...

SoupDragon · 11/01/2007 13:23

I have virtually a whole box of individually wrapped Tescos "kandoo" type wipes in the boot of my car. It's been there for a good 3 years.
