4 vs 5 year gap between 2nd and 3rd?

For those who have 3 or more kids with a 4 or 5 year gap between the 2nd and 3rd, how did you find it? I have been trying to find some advice online but not much luck. My mom thinks the larger the age gap the better as I will have more time with the 3rd and life will be easier. But I feel like I don't want the third to be completely left out if the other 2 are so much older. Thinking about having a 2 year old and 7 and 9 year olds seems strange. The little one would be like an only child right?

So 4 vs 5 year age gap, what do you think?

I don't know the answer, but the age gap between the first two and the third is the main reason we won't be having a third!

I have just had my third and my older two are just turned 5 and 7.5. This baby wasn't planned but I feel like it is absolute perfect timing! I could no way have handled another two ish year gap which is why we weren't planning to have any more.. 4 years would have been ok but still hard having to drag the baby on school and preschool runs, maybe if your second is a summer baby and starting school at 4 then a 4 year gap would be better.. Maybe that's answer, when the second one starts school is the right time? I think as far as having things in common with their siblings goes, a 4 or 5 year gap would be very similar so the only thing to consider is what would be easier for you. Having the others at school has meant it's like having my first again and I am loving it! And my older ones are so helpful, they can watch the baby for a minute whilst I go to the loo etc and they love him so much! I like that they will both remember him being born and taking his first steps etc.
