Have been getting lots of advice from flame and would like to hear from you aswell about what you have for your childrena nd especially waht fleece wraps (if you use them) that you like the best. Also on how you store before washing dry or wet? I don't really understand what I need for wet pailing. Thanks

Sorry not misdee but can give you some advice. Wet pailing is a pain I think. But its is effective, just fill the nappy pail with water and a few drops of tea tree oil. I use a liner for the pail, when full leave it to drain in the bath then transfer to the washing machine.

I dry pail, just try and get off as poo as poss from the nappy when changing, then do a rinse in the washing machine before washing.

Hope that helps

i dry pail. flush poo down the loo, when bin is full (every 2.5days) then put them on a wash. I have an option for extra rinse on my machine which i use to make sure not soap residue.

we use tots bots, motherease one size, and mainly motherease airflow wraps. Though i have jsut got some cotton bottom wraps cheap from the tommee tippee site which work well, but only under trousers/tights as dd3 can undo the velcro.

TR - fleece wraps are good (try totsbots) but as a first time user would recommend a PUL wrap - like motherease or onelife. I dry pail too - soaking was a faff to be honest - I just add some podwer sanitiser into the barrel of the machine - either onelife pure or bambino mio fresh.

Poppers are better on wraps when they get bigger as can't undo the poppers so well - velcro good on little ones as quicker and get snugger fit.

You could really do with a trial kit by the sounds of it - try your local really nappy network or a nappy advisor. They are really great for figuring out what you need/what you are doing!

i dont like fleece wraps. I do have two sets of wool longies which are fab though. they are waiting to be re-lanolised as dd3 had a nasty explosion in both sets last week.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 07/01/2007 10:49

QUICK - 'go to the link in nappy trial service - WOW' thread - some nappies going really cheap - wouldn't go for imse - but the tots bots, sam I am and stuffables may be worth a go.

BigBellyCornflakeKid · 07/01/2007 10:52

I agree really misdee! I couldn't get past the damp feeling with fleece or wool wraps - do you get that with your longies? do you make your own out of jumper sleeves or buy them? (sorry - just curious as a friend makes her own!)

Hijacked again!

misdee · 07/01/2007 10:54

i got mine from babylonglegs. they dont get that damp feeling that the fleece had.

SoupDragon · 07/01/2007 11:29

Get a mesh bag for your bucket - it makes the transfer to washing machine far more pleasant! I actually store my nappies in a Rationell blue lidded bin from Ikea. Holds the right amount of dirty nappies for a wash.
