I've finally bought some. Now do I have to wash several times before use - like nappies - or is once enough?
That's it! Thanks.

Just the once, unless they are red then I'd do a couple of washes for colour fastness. I wash mine with nappies at 60

only once. With nappies you wash them a few times to get the cotton fibres to settle down and become more absorbant - fleece doesn't need that.

once.i buy all my nappies second hand so only wash then once too

OMG - talk about a baptism of fire. Just changed very first fleece lined nappy and it was a VERY pooey one . I'm used to flushable paper liners so it was somewhat of a shock to the system.

Oh well, I'm sure DD will be very appreciative of my quest, for a drier comfier bottom for her, in years to come! LOL

ohh bless how old is dd? I find that now ds is older and his motions are quite solid that the poo rolls off the fleece into the toilet and If we are really deperate when out and about I have been known to wash it out with some soap in the sink and quickly dry under the hand dryer if I find that we don't have enough liners with us.

eidsvold · 05/01/2007 05:55

if you are worried about the poop - you can get something like this that helps with the cleaning

here

am investing in one for no3.

LRWG · 05/01/2007 08:22

Thanks eidsvold - will have a look at that.

Mummyhill - DD is almost eight months and has been very constipated since we began weaning. She's now on Lactulose to help sort her out and therefore consistency is somewhat hit and miss - poor lamb!

if they don't send overseas as it is an aussie site - try the australian breastfeeding associaion - they sell them online as well and send overseas.
