Yogurt for 7 month old

Just needing some advice.

I want to give my dd who is 7 months yogurt, but I'd much prefer to give her plain yogurt and add my own fruit purée.

Can anyone suggest the best yogurts to buy.

Thanks Flowers

I give my ds 6 months a tablespoon of Greek yoghurt and a little bit of my own fruit purée.

Same here, just full fat supermarket own yoghurt with fruit. It doesn't need to be puree either, i just put cut up fruit in.

StepfauxWife · 09/03/2016 13:56

Agree. I make fruit puree a bit more exciting by adding a tiny amount of cinnamon or vanilla.

Thank you, do you have any brand names of the Greek yogurts you use?

I use supermarket own brand. Full fat.

M&S do convenient 150ml pots - DD gets half at lunch and half after dinner - sometimes with cut up fruit added sometimes plain. Its pretty much the only thing she will eat. They are on offer at the moment...4 for 3 or something like that.

PerryHatter · 09/03/2016 14:23

Total Greek tastes amazing. It's my favourite, my DD enjoys it too.

Beautifulbella · 09/03/2016 14:27

Thank you all, I'm defiantly going to go try these. Smile

I just use the supermarket full fat Greek yoghurt

Highlove · 09/03/2016 19:18

I use Yeo valley, mainly because I use organic dairy where I can. I wouldn't bother with puree - just stick proper fruit in. Or don't bother - DD loves it plain and though fruit is important, I think it's good not to sweeten everything.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 09/03/2016 19:22

I use Yeo Valley natural full fat

Beautifulbella · 09/03/2016 20:36

So this afternoon, I tried my theory lo absololutely hated it. To the point where she was turning her head and refusing to open her mouth. Do any of you have a suffer for another snack I could possibly try? She has her breakfast, dinner and finger foods. She has no teeth at the moment so a bit apprehensive about certain foods.

Banana? Either mash it up or give her pieces to chomp on because it's quite soft. She probably already has that though. I've totally forgot weaning foods and it wasn't even that long ago Shock I just remember homemade purées and little yoghurts.
Have you tried the little packs of biscotti, I can't remember who makes them, there are different flavours though and they go really mushy once they start eating them so they're not hard.

WLmum · 09/03/2016 22:33

Yeo valley full fat all the way - it's delish! Try pureeing some dried apricots (rehydrate in boiling water first) - jacks organic don't have that nasty stuff that turns them orange. It will be super sweet and freezes well in tiny pots.

Dixiechick17 · 09/03/2016 23:01

Yeo valley do little pots of plain yoghurt specifically aimed at weaning.

Pinkheart5915 · 09/03/2016 23:40

Maybe try a different yoghurt, Ella's kitchen range do yogurt I get them occasionally from waitrose, tesco. Or could it have been the fruit that wasn't liked maybe try a different fruit purée.

Maybe some cucumber sticks? My baby boy love it as long as I peel the skin off
Mashed up bannana?
Mashed up, purée mango?

Would you give rice cakes? Or

SingingMyOwnSpecialSong · 10/03/2016 09:29

DD has always loved Little Yeos. They have no added sugar. The yoghurt are nicer than the fromage frais IMHO and actually taste of the flavour they are.

NorthLondonMum83 · 13/03/2016 09:48

My LO guzzles full fat Total Greek yoghurt. Breakfast and the odd snack, and has since 6 months old. It's really good for them and no added nasties.

chumbler · 13/03/2016 15:58

Try mixing in berries to sweeten it, they 'bleed' into the yogurt

chumbler · 13/03/2016 15:59

Or grated apple, pear, stewed fruit
