Lifting at bedtime

My DD has been dry during the day for 4 months and we have been lifting her before we go to bed since then. She usually does have a wee, but she is now waking at about 1am ish needing the toilet and then remains awake until at least 3am. Should we stop lifting her and see what happens or keep going?? I am at a loss, shall I leave off the nappy seeing as she wakes for a wee and generally her nappy is dry in the morning. I don't know which to focus on, her being awake half the night or getting her dry at night!!!!!! As you can see I am VERY confused!

well, i never did lift, heard somewhere that it didnt help, since they wee half asleep if you do that, so werent really learning to control their bladders Try givng it a miss, imo, but i am sure there will be plenty of others

how old is she ? For me sleep would always come first, as a result we never lifted or made night dryness an issue and both kids decided to be dry at night just before 4.

Hi, she's 3.2. I agree with sleep being more important! Especially after 3 weeks of this pattern of waking. Maybe I should start a thread on the sleep forum. I have tried everything and don't know where to go now. I just wondered if it was related to being dry/wet at night.

I have never wakened my dd for a wee at night. She is 3.2years and decided on boxing day that she didnt want to wear a nappy at night any more. As she had had loads of dry morning nappies we went along with it. She has only had one accident but thats to be expected I suppose. She comes and gets one of us if she needs a wee in the night and generally goes back to sleep pretty quickly afterwards.
