Not sure what to do... any ideas?

My DS has just begun to crawl and has been a good sleeper in recent times. (has always woken perhaps 10-11pm and we go usually have to go in and turn him onto his front and he's back to sleep.)

Now he can move around, when he wakes up he sits up in the corner of his cot crying. If we lie him back down, he's straight back up.

If we leave him he just sits there sobbing and getting himself into a huge tiz?

Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

i had this with both of mine when theystarted crawling. We went in and treated it the same as we would if they woke in the night normally ie cuddle kiss tuck in. It does pass, its just as they get used to being able to use this new skill theyhave learned

Could he be teething? If so there are gum gels and other remedies.

Personally I just latched mine on every time and ignored all those "rod for your own back" finger-waggers.

I have actually been picking him up and giving him a cuddle, calming him down, then putting him back.
This works but i have to do it a few times because he just sits straight back up.

I didnt know if i should just try leaving him, but i dont think he's yet at the age to just 'conk out'.

As 'mumofmonsters' said perhaps he's doing it because he can and he'll get bored of it... but i'm just worried that he'll work out "If i sit up, they'll come in and get me"

Hi. Mine were the same Ds used to go back to sleep after drink of milk until about 18mnths (moved into bed) now just keeps getting up so one of us gets in bed with him. DD always bad sleeper and wears splints at night for clubfoot so especially bad nights. She just comes in with me at night. Apparently they get better at around 5. Here's hoping. J

my lo did this as well, I think they know how to sit up but haven't learned to lie themselves down again. We did the same as mum of monsters and settled him back down and within a few nights he stopped doing it.
