Did you remember everything when you had your second?!

Ok, not pregnant with no 2 yet but was just thinking that a lot of DS1's (he's 18 months) early weeks and months are a bit of a blur! I've forgotten when he slept more than 4 hrs...when he went 3 hrs between feeds....when he stopped screaming in the bath....when he went from 4 naps to 3 to 2.....there were just so many phases that came and went.

I remember when he crawled and walked and when he slept through the night (7 months) as these were much bigger events but all the other stuff I wish I'd written down. Did you feel that way when number 2 arrived?

Nope its a complete blur. Especially since I was focused on DD1 starting school at the same time.

Don't really remember anything...just to put boob in their mouth a lot 😄

Nearly 8 weeks into my second. Some stuff is coming back, mostly in the realisation that they are very different children and will do things very differently I'm more relaxed second time around too which probably has an impact!

I'm big on writing stuff down, but I've always kept journals / diaries / albums of some sort.

Pregnant with No 2 now and have rediscovered lots of pregnancy symptoms I'd forgotten about. So far, rashes on my hands and dead arms at night time. I can't wait to see what comes next

I wrote everything down with my first. Had a beautiful book that I recorded every feed, how much, nappies. Everything. In it I could easily see when he slept through, changes in nap patterns, I also used it to hand over to my parents who looked after him one day a month when I worked.
Have lost the book. So am now 6 weeks into second child with no idea at all. I am a smidge gutted! Although at least I'm not comparing the two all the time!

Yes. Similar gap between DC1 and DC2. It's almost muscle memory, particularly in the early, sleep-deprived, stages.

Your second probably won't behave the same as your first anyway.

Just 16months between and we remember in a déjà vu kind of way after the fact when something similar happens (dc2is just turned 1 and started screaming in the bath just as he brother did at this age).
But for the most part things have happened differently, she has different difficulties and personality so much of it wasn't transferable ifswim. But yes to being much calmer this time as you've a toddler so no time to stress about things as much.

No didn't remember any of it really- 2.5 year gap! The only thing I remembered is when DD slept through the night and when I started weaning onto solids. The rest just happened. DS is 7 months now and It's all happened again

Did people find it ok with a 2nd? 8 weeks to go and have a 3.5 yr old!

It's fine Milky. A 3:5 year old is reasonably independent, and has the ability to wait a few moments of necessary. They often love helping too.

I can't remember much about the early days with either other than just to survive lol.

Dd1 is 3 and dd2 is 1 and they're so very different anyway.

I had forgotten everything. DC2 was as different from DC1 as could be - pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleeping - totally different.

I could remember quite a lot. However DD was a completely different kettle of fish to DS so it wasn't much use anyway.

I can't remember much about either. Apart from the lack of sleep. I won't forget that.

I can't remember much at all. She was a very easy baby I know that and I remember milestones but I don't remember day to day stuff.
