Does such a thing exist? Like a cover of some kind?

We took the rather expensive option of buying new appliances (dishwasher and washing machine) with child locks on them. Might seem overkill, but it was revolutionary to actually get a wash cycle to its correct conclusion!

That is our issue. What starts off as a 40 degree daily wash, ends up as a 2 hour long spin

We used a child gate across the kitchen door which stopped most things being interfered with.

Not if the DC can move the chair.

I put in a load to dry in the washer dryer, it had finished and was in cool down. Came in two minutes later and the DC had started a wash cycle and water had been pouring into the dry washing for 2 minutes.

I still use the toddler lock on my Bosch washing machine, force of habit as children are 7 and 9 yrs now.

Well knob guards was an unexpected Google search thanks Flogging. In our case it's not a toddler, it's the Labrador.
We have had to remove the knobs from the oven to stop him turning the gas on.

My daughter can easily push chairs around, especially to gain access to the most alluring toy in the house: The tumble drier.

It's hard to explain but out kitchen is open plan and leads directly into the diner which leads directly into the living room. To block off the door to the kitchen would limit her access to the hallway. Which is tempting actually, but a bit unfair.

We tend to have all appliances off at the mains while she is up and about, but sometimes it would be nice to use them in the 12 hours she is awake.

Those knob guards... They look good but I'm not sure they would cover the rather large knobs of my washer and drier.

Worth a shot though so gonna purchase.

Our washing machine has a child lock that prevents DC changing the programme but not turning it off. So chocolate fireguard really.

Could you get some tuppaware and duct tape?! Found a Lego man in the detergent drawer this morning not remotely relevant

At least a lego man won't wash through into the machine!
