I had one for my dd and she loved it - used it with ds and he wasn't interested at all.

taylormama · 20/12/2006 15:21

my DS is now 28 weeks and is soooo not interested in bouncing - he hangs there looking like he has parachuted out of a plane and whilst that is amusing it isn't really the point of a door bouncer .... oh and every time we put him in it he burps very loudly!!!!!

DS had one, he loved it, but only for really short periods.

Had one for all of mine and it was one of the best baby things we got....passed it on to my SILs (who had babies close in age) and they used to fight over it!

Found it good to keep them entertained for short periods while I had a shower (hung it in the bathroon doorway) or while making dinner.

DS1 loved it.

They are probably frowned upon, but from about the age of 4 months, whenever I put him in it, it was the only time he stopped crying.

Best 20 quid I ever spent

I'd say it's worth trying to brrow one if you can, as not all babies like them

IdrisTheRedNosedDragon · 20/12/2006 15:29

DS liked it. DD wasn't so keen.

pinkmagic1 · 20/12/2006 15:31

DS loved his. I got it off e-bay for about £8 and it provided hours of peace and quiet! I will be digging it out for my new DD in a couple of months.

do baby doors like bouncing then?

moonshine · 20/12/2006 15:36

Both dd and ds just looked bemused by it - waste of money for us so definitely worth borrowing one first if you can.

lulumama · 20/12/2006 15:51

DS lurved it..DD hated it !! one of those things that kids love or hate...like marmite !!

Ash80 · 20/12/2006 15:52

Ha Ha Twiglet! . definetly will try and borrow one to see if ds likes it.Thanks all.x

i originally said i wouldnt have one as bad for babies leg and feet (according to nhs chiropodist) but caved in and agreed we would when dd was whiney at 5/6 months as she wasnt mobile but didnt want to be left alone to play, so borrowed sil, as dd had gone in once or twice at her house happily (though not actually bouncing) and thought she might finally allow me to shower for longer than 4min playing peepo with shower curtain .

First time at home she explored kitchen walking in it with elastic stretched as if it were a bungee elastic, then she started to deliberately walk straight into door frames when put in it! So scared that she would end up brain damaged she didnt go back in. I'm sure that you will be lucky enough to have a normal child that doesnt walk into door frames though (not the best way to test the whole cause and effect thing).

Luckily in the meantime she has become mobile and loves to be left lone while we are busy as that gives her the opportunity to find something she isnt supposed to have or crawl after us at lightening speed.

my ds1 loved his door bouncer as doe ds2, when ds1 is not swinging him around in it!!!!

now can only use it when ds1 isn't about.
