Overnight nappy too bulky for baby to lie flat. Suggestions?

My 10 month old wears fuzzi bunz and swaddlebees for daytime and I've been trying to find a good nappy for overnight as she's a pretty heavy wetter. Up until now I've been using disposables at night but I'd really like to stop using them.

I've recently bought a Fluffle and wrap and love it (she looks just like the 'Fairy' baby in it), the trouble is that it is so bulky that when I come to put her down to sleep she looks like she's lying over a barrel. It can't be comfortable.

She isn't a great sleeper at the best of times and I'm reluctant to make it worse, also she's still suffering with a bit of reflux and having her head lower than her hips isn't going to be good for that.

Does anyone else find this? Any suggestions (apart from cutting a hole in the mattress)would be gratefully received!

Could you prop her cot like when they have colds?

i always recommend them but just a normal folded terry is nice and flat to lie on with loads of absorbencey as the bulk is between the legs. i have a fluffle and a skinny dd (7 months), but seems ok on her. could you not stick a booster in one of your day nappies? i have one swaddlebees one - v cute and neat!!

aaargh. yes we had this with dd, though when she was younger. Ds was fine in cloth til he was potty trained but dd...oh no.

I am sorry to say we ended up switching to disposables (tushies).

I hope you find a better solution though.

we use a terry nappy with a terry folded as a booster and either a disana wool wrap or tots bots fleece.i find the disana keeps everything in.when we first experimented at night we used the terry fleeced topped boosters and put loads in,gradually takin them away till we got something that lasted all night but was comfy for ds too!we were bit worried about look of them at first as babies in disposables look so skinny but hes fine!

Hmmn. Proping up the bed is a thought, Scootergirl. She'd still be like a see-saw but at least her head would be higher than her hips!

She already has a booster in her day nappies, and they go for 2.5 - 3hrs max. Perhaps she's a REALLY heavy wetter then... (She still suckles so much, I now look like a raisin. All that fluid got to get out I guess).

I'll look into the terry's then. It could be a solution. Are they really that absorbent? Will it 'wick' the moisture away from her skin? How easy are they to use?

Are Huggles more bulky than the Fluffles? I hear that they are THE nappy for nighttime, but turning from side to back would be an uphill struggle (visions of babe balancing on her bum with neither head nor feet in contact with mattress..)
