DD is 3.5 started school in sept so by now very tired and it shows, now it's even worse tho cos she keeps waking early 5.30 a couple of times this is due to her having taking nappy off and wet the bed. She is a good girl in that unless she has wet she will stay in her room til i come and get her about 7 am. However I know she needs more sleep as given the chance she will fall asleep easily in the car in the day, it's so frustrating as she gets really grumpy and irritable and irritating(!) when she's tired. I know I can't make her asleep but there must be something I can do, or anyone pls share your positive experiences to an end to this! I feel so shattered from early starts and/or her behaviour as well as looking after dd2(14 months) I go to bed at 9 - 9.30 as it is!

What time does she go to bed at?

Scootergirl · 15/12/2006 20:01

Put her nappy on back to front so she can't get to the tabs??
On a serious note, my DD who's 3, has a Kiddisleep clock which is like a better version of the Sleepytime Bunny clock. When she goes to sleep you press a button and a lit-up pic of a sleeping rabbit appears then when you decide, you set the timer to change the picture to an awake rabbit.
We reinforce it by having rabbit bring her a sweet (bad, bribing mummy...) if she stays in bed til he wakes up.

You could get hold of a poppered wrap (the sort that you put over a washable nappy) and put that over the nappy - this would stop her taking it off, thereby enabling her to sleep a little longer.

She goes to bed between 7 - 7.30 no probs. Clock will have a look for one of those, I think she could manage poppers etc she's good at dressing underssing when she wants too!!!

The clock came from babysleepshop.com or .co.uk - jelly brain can't remember! What about putting a babygrow on back to front so she can't physically reach the poppers?
Or what about making her sleep in mittens.....
