Hi all

If My 5 week old DD is awake and I need to put her down she cries, I can't get anything done and it's frustrating, but I hate leaving her to cry so I pick her up again. I know that is not helping the situation. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do?

My dd was the same. I went to a sling library and having a sling saved my sanity. I promise you she won't become reliant on being held. She's wanting the comfort and she will grow out of that need. And you definitely can do a wee when wearing a baby in a sling.

ODog my 3yo is rarely carried these days. Last time was at 2y9m and I was 37 weeks pregnant and camping, I'm mad

Make the most of it. My DD2 was like this for about 8 weeks and then just snapped out of it. I didn't do slings as they're not really my thing- felt too awkward with her in one. But just went with it, cuddled her, my DD1 was really fine with it, and it passed.

I don't regret any of the days I ignored the rest of the world and cuddled her. I wish I did more cuddling!

Sling! Swaddling also helped with DS. As for bad habits, DS slept on me, in a sling, co-sleeping in my bed, basically everywhere but where he was meant to from about 3 months to 9 months, then settled to sleeping through in a cot within about 5 days of starting putting him in there so don't spend too much time worrying about ruining sleep habits yet. Besides, the little wretches change their sleep pattern every time you get it worked out so there's always room for adjustment.
