My childs father wants to take his son for a night but there house boiler is broken and has no heating would this be unsafe for are son even if he was well wrapped up in blankets and clothing ? Or is it dangerous there must be loads of people who struggle to heat there homes as its so expensive?

I wouldn't agree to this. Never mind the lack of heating, my dc would not have been happy to be without me for two night and two days at the age of 4 months. Even with dh being there all the time and very hands on.
How well does your baby know this person?

Whatdoidohelp · 10/12/2015 12:15

You need to ensure his swaddling and wrapping up is safe. If the baby gets too hot and is too tightly wrapped he may not be able to get his arms out to cool himself.

If it was me I would not let him have true baby. If you can't get your boiler and heating fixed for the sake of the baby you should let the baby stay where he is warm as comfortable until it is.

Do you have problems with Dad having the baby this long? Are you happy for your baby to be away from you? I would have gone bonkers without them for 2 days at 4 months!

No heating is a red herring. Babies survived pre central heating, many houses don't have heating upstairs even now.

So if you will be there anyway, why can't dad cone to you for those two days/nights?

coffeeisnectar · 10/12/2015 13:26

My dd was 2yo when I got central heating put in. We lived in Scotland. It got very cold but we survived.

Katieemilyxo · 10/12/2015 13:38

Of course it's fine. It's a warm winter anyway - we haven't even put our heating on yet.

waitingforsomething · 10/12/2015 13:52

Id say he would be fine- it's actually still quite mild. Just pack lots of clothing and a grobag- we don't have our heating on at night anyway.

Ah. Well really there's nothing stopping you if you want to. If your not comfortable with it that's perfectly understandable though.v
