between being an old naggy mother & a sensible one? DD1 who's 13 has had a boyfriend for about 6 months- he's the same age as her. Have had a little chat with her about being sensible, waiting for the right one etc. The longer she goes out with him the more worried I am that they'll take they'll take the next step iyswim. My friend did mention to me that I should talk to her about the pill but I dont want to go ahead & give her the green light if that makes sense. She's only 13. At the same time, I remember being nearly 14 & thinking I knew it all & my bf had a baby at 14. When I was 14 my boyfriend was 18 & I becase I had no intention of doing anything I couldnt work out why my mum wasn't too keen! Any mums had a similar dilema?

KathH, she needs to be supplied with condoms and put on the pill. It doesn't mean you are encouraging it. It means you are being realistic and sensible.

thanks winnie - thought it would get easier as they get older!
