Lunch - beans on toast

ODog · 02/11/2015 20:37

DS is 17mo

Milk on waking
Cheerios and a satsuma for breakfast
Banana, breadsticks and apple as a snack at toddler group
Crackers, tomatoes, avocado for lunch
Rice cakes and apple crisp things to keep him in the trolley whilst food shopping
Fish finger, sweet pot wedges and peas then yoghurt for dinner
Milk before bed

He has days when he eats barely anything though and tends to eat bigger breakfast and dinner and then graze from mid morning to mid afternoon (nap in the middle) rather than have a proper meal.

Yesterday my 20 month old ate

Breakfast
Porridge & a banana

Snack
Grapes & 2 mini breadsticks

Lunch
Tuna & sweetcorn mini pitta
Rice pudding

Snack
Oat cereal bar

Dinner
Macaroni cheese

He didn't eat all of everything but I'm chilled with food and trust that he eats to his appetite on that day.
Ordinarily I would have served some veg with his dinner (he loves broccoli it's his favourite food - little weirdo) but I'm suffering with sickness from being pregnant and it was all I could do to get that on the plate for him without throwing up!

Dd is 2.11 so don't know if this is a toddler still but today:

Breakfast: weetabix and a piece of toast with jam
Lunch: cheese and ham sandwich, grapes, cucumber, yoghurt
Snack; banana
Dinner: will be pork and parsnip casserole with rice.

Yesterday she had shreddies for breakfast, sausages, Yorkshire pudding and a bit of corn on the cob for lunch and a cheese omelette with tomato for dinner.

She has never been through a fussy phase although she has a few random dislikes- for this I am very grateful and hoping baby DS will copy her when eating starts for him!

God I struggle with lunches so this thread is really useful.

Today is weetabix and an orange for breakfast

Lunch - omelet with courgette, sweetcorn and cheese (if I have time, otherwise a sandwich). Banana.

Tea - he has whatever we have so today it's Spanish chicken bake. Grapes and a yoghurt.

He doesn't really snack, I find that if he does he doesn't want his meals.

Milk just before nap and before bed.

Bishboshbash · 03/11/2015 20:33

These are great thanks.
Its lunches I struggle with the most and ds is dairy free which makes things more complicated!

Dd is nearly two. Today she ate
Breakfast: One weetabix with raisins
Lunch: Half an avocado, half a slice of toast and half a pear
Snack: Small handful dry cheerios
Dinner: Noodles with stir fried veg and chicken (only ate peas out of five different veg)
Dp also gave her a cake, whilst I was out of the room hiding on the loo She mainly licked all the icing off.

This is a pretty good day for her foodwise, as it seemed to me she ate a decent amount. Keeping snacks to a minimum helped. I love reading all the idea, sandwiches are a default for lunch here too.

Wishfulmakeupping · 04/11/2015 00:52

Yesterday dd nearly 3 had:
Breakfast- toast x2 and raisins
Snack- fruit preschool
Lunch- pork sandwich, grated cheese, carrot stick crisps
Snack- rusk
Dinner- scampi, mash and peas and a yogurt
Supper- weetabix hot milk and fruit mixed in with glass milk

Scotinoz · 04/11/2015 01:19

Yesterday, my almost 2 year old ate:

French toast make with 2 slices of raisin bread, strawberries and some melon.

Couple of plain crackers and an apple, then a cheesy bread scroll thing.

Egg sandwich, avo, cheese stick, crackers and hummus and more strawberries

More crackers and half a scone (pilfered from her father)

Chicken meatballs, noodles and Asian greens. Yoghurt. More fruit. Toast. Milk.

It looks a lot written down Hmm Sheseems to be hungry at the moment

Strokethefurrywall · 04/11/2015 01:56

DS2 is going to be a really pain in the arse about food as he gets older, I can tell.

Most days he'll have:

2 weetabix
Banana
Yoghurt
Leftover spag Bol/risotto/small cheese sandwich
Mini goldfish crisps
Cereal bar

We all get home around 5.30 pm at which point he'll either have some more spag Bol/risotto or more Weetabix. Then a waffle.

I try to get more veg into him and it doesn't seem to work so I've just stopped trying and will start putting more in my cooking sauces.

DS1 seems to love broccoli but we've no idea where he learned to love it. I figure dS2 will find a vegetable other than peas to enjoy as he gets older.

It gave me anxiety for a while but I figured I would save my anxiety for when they're driving their mates for the first time...
