Bed frame with removable legs?

We are moving our 1.5 year old Ds into the same room as our 4yr old dd. At the moment, she sleeps in a toddler bed. Thinking of getting a floor bed for Ds but I don't like the idea of the mattress sitting on the floor. Was wondering if anyone knew where to get a bed frame with removable legs ie. The mattress would sit in a box with slats to ensure it was slightly off the ground and when Ds is older, we can attach the legs back on.

Is there even such a thing? I thought IKEA sold one of these beds but I can seem to find it!

Why?

We got a low bed for ds - it is a regular single just low. He was in it before he turned 2

I'd probably just get a wooden trundle bed for now and swap to a standard bed base when he's older. I saw them on Amazon for not too much.

I bought a stacking futon bed for my DS (but just one layer) for similar reasons - not wanting the mattress directly on the floor but am sort of wishing I'd got a trundle bed to make it less expensive when we want to raise the height of the bed.

Well, the children's bedroom is also quite small and I figured if I could get ds's floor bed to be partially under the toddler bed (in an L-shape) - so we can roll part of it under during the day for enough floor space to play and then roll it out for sleep.

Toyed with bunk beds but Ds is a daredevil climber and I am not ready for the risk he climbs up to join his sister and then falls off the top or off the ladder while we are asleep in our own beds!

I like the warren Evans' bed but wonder if it would fit under dd's toddler bed.

Maybe a trundle bed would just be easier... will check out the IKEA divan style bed too in any case!

If I were in your shoes I would sell DD's toddler bed and get a single bed for her and a trundle bed (like this www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90247988/) to go underneath - then when you do eventually go for bunkbeds you can use the trundle as a guest bed.
