Dizzy Diapers - anyone else had problems with these?

i got a dizzy diaper about a months ago and would love to love it as it's so quick drying and stuff-able so perfect for night time but so far it's been a disaster.

i've tried it on both my baby and toddler and the same thing keeps happening, the stay dry fleece seems to work too well, all the pee just runs off the nappy and leaks out of the wrap, none ever gets through to be absorbed by the padding

has anyone else had this problem or know something i could do to fix it? i have few enough night nappies to get me through without having to dump this one!

Hi Pink, have you done a few really good washes to break down the fibres and increase the absorbancy of the nappy?

PinkTinsel · 04/12/2006 15:35

it's been washed at least 5 or six times on 6odegrees. should i bung it ona 90 deg wash do you think?

I don't think the temp really matters it's the jigging about of fibres in the wash that does it. I would say 3-5 washes prior to use in the minimum and the nappy will reach maximum absorbancy after about 12 washes. I am guessing that you aren't using a fabric conditioner or a 2 in 1 powder.

soapnuts with a dash of ecover bleach

will give it another couple od\f washes so just to be sure, although the wet cot bedding is starting to irritate me!

I've had this problem with Fluffles and someone suggested trying 'stripping' them as recommended for Fuzzi bunz here . I think it did make a difference and helped the fleece absorb better.

PinkTinsel · 04/12/2006 22:14

fabulous runnervt. will give it a go and see does it have any effect.

possibly the soapnuts i use aren't a strong enough detergant to remove the manufacturing residue? hope it does work as i sooo can't be arsed witht he hassle of trying to sell the damn hing and if it would just work it would be a great nappy!
