Can anyone help me with a gift/s for soon to be 4 year old boy?

He likes superheroes and football.

I can spend up to around £40 so it can be 1 or 2 bigger things or several £10 items. I find it very easy buying for girls, but almost impossible buying for boys! I think he already has a lot of the superhero figures.

Can anyone help with suggestions that perhaps have gone down well with their 4 year old sons?

I found this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F3B2ZWW/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=324R8H78KXUDH&coliid=I1HX10ENPRWUMW

and this so far www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00I4IY2ZY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=324R8H78KXUDH&coliid=I1JP8KH9RBXQL4

and also thought he might like one of the Orchard Toys Games? And superhero pyjamas?

How about this, plus it's under £30 at the moment on Amazon. My ds has quite a few Imagenext toys -they're brilliant and virtually indestructible. Loads of accessories for the batcave too so that would also sort out christmas!

Playmobil is a good bet too, as are Bruder toys if he likes vehicles. Out of lego and duplo i'd probably go for lego for a 4 year old.

That should be Imaginext Toys - my keyboard has terrible spelling!

I had the Imaginext Batcave on my amazon wish list for ages but when I searched about it on mumsnet quite a few people were saying it was rubbish?! There is a version for £100+ which people said was good but not this cheaper version. That does totally go against the 300 five star amazon reviews though. Hmmm!

Thanks for the tip re lego vs duplo for 4 yr old - I agree. If I go for something like that I'll choose lego.

We don't have the batcave, but ds does have quite a few Imaginext toys (castle, dragon, wizards lair etc) and they have all been really good. The cheaper versions like the wizards lair don't do quite as much as the more expensive castle, but obviously that's reflected in the price.

If you're interested i just had a quick look and the big version of the batcave is on amazon for just under £60 - although on there it doesn't get quite as good reviews as the smaller one!

Going off my 5yo ds I'd say any super hero costume and the accompanying weapons for example Thor costume with a Thor hammer

My 4yo loves his Batman tee with attached cape. It was a couple of quid from Peacocks but I'm sure a quick Google will find something similar. Even now it's too small and v bobbly. He would wear it every day if he could. Ditto Spider-Man costume (all-in-one thing). And Lego - loves the Batman and Star Wars stuff.

4yo here loves dressing up and associated stuff so a batman outfit and matching batman Lego etc

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Gifts bought Smile
