Apologies if this isn't the appropriate place to post this.

Was planning on getting DD a play kitchen for her 2nd birthday but just found out PIL have bought her one so need to come up with an alternative present idea sharpish!

So, what toys did your little ones love when they were two? Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

My DN loves her doll and pram, and playmobil 123.

You might want to ask for this to be moved to _Chat for traffic.

My DS is two in a couple of weeks. We've got him some fake brio and a set of 20 Dr Seuss books. He's getting duplo from my grandparents.

I based what we bought on things he likes at the moment - he loves the one Dr Seuss book he has and is obsessed with all things vehicle related. What are your DD's favorite toys at the moment?

My DD is 2 next month, I'm getting her a balance bike

Pasta, her favorites at the moment are soft animals, her baby doll and pushchair, cars and trains, happyland stuff (but she's already got loads), a swing and slide which we've got in the garden, her tea set and pretend food.

If she likes trains perhaps a train set? You can get some lovely wooden ones, assuming you don't have one already.

yorkshapudding · 09/10/2015 17:39

I did look at a few wooden trainsets on Amazon but they all seemed to be 3 years +, might have another look around as I do think she'd get a lot of use out of a trainset.

Mini micro scooter?

TeamBacon · 09/10/2015 17:46

Duplo and play mobile 123 always a winner. We're getting DS that Fisher price beatbo thing

PseudoBadger · 09/10/2015 17:47

We got DD (2 very recently) a Peppa weeble house, cheap sparkly unicorns from Sainsburys, 3 books and an umbrella. We should've just got the umbrella as it's her favourite thing ever Grin

TeamBacon · 09/10/2015 17:47

Oh, and a load of play food from ikea

echosmagicalgarden · 09/10/2015 17:51

We got our son a Wubble (somewhere between a ball and a bubble) and he loves it!

BikeRunSki · 09/10/2015 17:52

Balance bike.

But a wooden train set - Brio, Big Jigs and the like - will be fine. A lot of toys are given a CE 3+ age rating because it costs the manufacturers loads to get them tested for under 3s. There are very few hazards in a wooden train set, just don't lick it too much.

Bacon, just had a look at that Beatbo thing on Youtube, it looks like something DD would enjoy. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do quite like the idea of a balance bike though. There seem to be hundreds out there so will have to do a bit of research.
