At last - no more nappies!

Ds has finally passed the last hurdle - his child minder handed us back a worn but "unused" nappy last night and said we didn't need to put him in in nappies any more.

He's 3 years, 9 months old, so it's taken some time. He's been in pants at home now for nearly 2 months and doing well - 2 weeks ago we even successfully started him in pants over night. The only accidents (few and far between) have been either our fault (ie he's been telling us he needed the potty and we've been too busy doing something else to register) or when he was so zonked he couldn't wake up in the morning (like when he went to bed at midnight, having run around all night at his grandparent 50th wedding anniversary party).

I know I should have pushed the issue with the childminder (as I was advised here) but decided it wasn't worth the hassle as she is so good i every other respect - and so convenient (the house next door) - plus ds didn't seem to to be confused. I wasn't going to be buying her any more nappies though - once mine had run out, that was it, as far as I was concerned!

I've now packed up all the remaining nappies and pull-ups to give away to a deserving home.

I was proud of ds last night. He's not been 100& yesterday - slpet all day at the childminders and then slep when he cam hoe. he was NOT for waking up enough to go to the toilet, so we just put him in his PJs and put him to bed.

I zonked out on the sofa (I'd only had one glass of wine, honest!) and at 3am was woken up by a wee voice repeating "Muuuum" in my ear, and once I'd woken up, telling me he needed the toilet.

Bless

I think he is well and truly trained!

Now if I could train MY self to actually GO to bed rather than crash out on the sofa..... Apparently dh had been through twice trying to get me to come to bed!

Oops - should review. He slept all day and then slept when he came home.
