So ds is 18 months old. I think he is normally nightmarish, but my friend tonight has informed me that his poor(?) behaviour is down to me not setting boundaries.

This person doesn't even have children, I don't know why I am even entertaining the viewpoint.

can I just add, in very fawning tones, that I'm usually a lurker but always look out for your posts because they tend to be really helpful/well thought out and my mental image of you is as one excellent parent - so ya boo sucks to him anyway (going to hide now, I don't usually compliment strangers but you deserve it and he's an ar*e)

Gosh, thanks malta, that is really kind of you and for good measure.

Friend is now claiming I made the whole thing up and he never criticised ds, we just have a 'difference of opinion'. God, what is the point? Oh well, another friendship to consign to history.

yep, sounds like he isn't really worth the effort. I spend all my time analysing the tonnes of "advise" I've had from general well wishers what did she mean by that? does that mean she thinks I'm going to a rubbish mum? why would anyone say something that mean? and I haven't even had my baby yet!
I am trying to ignore the unhelpful comments but I did lose it yesterday when some prat at work told me I would never cope with a new baby... he doesn't know how close he came to losing all hope of parenting his own kids!
