Hi there, just after some advice/experiences about salmon marks. My DD who is 2 half yrs now was born with a salmon mark on right cheek and eyelid and nape of neck. The eyelid one has gone totally but the one on her cheek is quite prominent still. It does seem to be changing as her face is getting bigger ( I can see white patches appearing as she grows) but it doesn't appear to be fading. The one on her nape is still there but covered in hair! everywhere I've tried to read up on salmon patches never mentions them on the cheek. Does anyone have any experiences of them on the cheek? many thanks in advance

I'm not 100% but my daughter has them on her forehead, neck, upper lip and - so I thought - side of her nose. But the doctor said the nose one is another type of mark that might not fade apparently....I hope it will.

Hi, Thankyou that is interesting, I had heard of them commonly being on forehead, nape. Did the Dr say what kind of mark it was on the nose?

I can't remember what he called it but said it was broken blood vessels. He said he doesn't know what will happen!

Hello! Did the red mark ever go? x

If it’s a port wine stain birthmark it will darken over time rather than fade unless medical intervention is sought eg laser treatment.
