Escaping poo nappy nightmare

My 3 month old DD (BF'ing) has THE most runny nappies. I don't remember my DS' being quite as bad. Whether it's to do with the 2 rotavirus vaccines which he didn't have I'm not sure. Anyway her nappies are horrific and I'm struggling to keep them contained IYSWIM. As soon as I lay her down, poo explodes up her back. I have always used Pampers in the past but they are hopeless for her. I've tried Lidl and had the same problem. I'm now trying Sainsbury's own as they are the only ones I've found which are elasticated at the back. I tried going up a size but that didn't solve the problem. She's just on the 15lbs which is the very bottom of size 4. I've gone back down to size 3 Sainsbury's own to see if that works. Anyone else have this problem with exploding poo up the back? Am I doing something wrong?

I have had it a bit with DS. Either up the back or out of the back of the leg. Its worse if he is in the carcseat or bouncy chair and also if he has already wet the nappy then poops, its like the nappy just can't handle the volume!!

Im using aldi as I've tried several sorts and they are all the same so might as well use the cheaper ones. I have just gone up a size (DS was 11lb12 last week) to size 3 (9 - 20lbs) so hope this helps.

Also rigid changing every two hours helped.

Yes! Exploding nappies, I remember them well (DD is 2 now so we're a bit out of that stage).

Sainsburys nappies are definitely the best at containing them but still a lot of leakage, I think it's an inevitable baby thing I'm afraid but they do grow out of it. A neat trick is learning that vests with the envelope shoulders can be taken off down the body (not over the head) so avoiding getting poo on baby's face and hair- lifesaver!

Good luck, it doesn't last forever!

You could try a reusable nappy wrap over the top. They're much better at stopping poo up the back because they're elasticated. Nothing contains the biggest explosions though. ;)

Agree with NorahBone: Washable nappies contained the vast majority of DDs' poo-splosions. I've not tried them over the top of a disposable though.

I would suggest reusable nappies. Not tried the cover over a disposable but since dd was two months old (now 8.5 months), the only poo leak we've had was with a disposable. Reusables have definitely been far better at containment.
