I liked muslins for new baby

Would recommend a Motherease sandys size extra small for a teeny baby - will contain babypoo very, very well! Nice and easy to use too as they just popper together.

I am rebuilding my nappy collection ready for no.3 - have got so far...

2 cuddlebuns (btp)
3 xs sandys
2 small wee notions with poppers
5 peeweez (on order)
4 small motherease rikki wraps
and will probably top up with onelife rucksack...

but may be drawn into getting some bamboo ones, small fuzzi bunz bugs and newborn terries!

Bimbles or bumbles are good. bimbles only really worth it if a small newborn. as will be getting a bit scanty by 15lb. Bumbles are good with a chunky new baby like my lad was.

Hello all - not sure where best to post this - I'm trying to convince my mate to give real nappies a go - one of her issues is what to do when you're out and about (or on holidays) - do you carry sodden nappies around with you or just use disposable nappies for these occasions?

LittleB · 06/12/2006 13:10

I use washable nappies when out and about, have a nappy bag to put the wet nappies in - I got a fleece coloured waterproof nappy bag free with minki nappies - its gorgeous, I just wash it every time I use it, in with the nappies. I love my washable nappies. I do use disposables on holiday though, and have used them occaisionally when on a really long day out.

For a newborn, muslims, or wbb is good as a btp as not at all bulky.
tots size ones or me sandies newborn or small should not be to bulky.

i have a washable nappy bag but a lot of the time i just use a carrier bag!!i have used reusables even on holiday but we had a washing machine in our apartment. a friend of ours handwashed hers though when she went camping.

i would highly recommend the nippa babaloos they come in a size 1 or size 2 and if you need to make it smaller for a teeny just fold the top down.

whenevilgotstuckupthechimney · 07/12/2006 17:19

agree with piffle, muslins are lovely and with terries in general you can use different folds depending on what size your baby is

sorry the correct link for babaloos is this

also love love bums WAHM-BAMBOO not to be confused with the wham bamboo.

and celtic kidz are good too.

JoJoBrooks · 17/12/2006 21:49

would recomend weenees, "eenee snib" , can be found on www.bugalugz.co.uk.

and are only £3.50 each with free delivery!

i used muslins in mine and occasionally the specially designed bio degradable pads,

good luck in your search.
