How long is your baby in the same nappy at night?

I have a 3-month-old who sleeps very well, from 7pm to 7am. Sometimes we put a new nappy on him at midnight (we are using Moltex) but I am never sure if it's better to wake him up and change him or to let him sleep. He'll usually wake up to feed sometime between midnight and 6am but if I feed him in bed I'd rather not get up and change him, so we can all stay warm and snuggly.

What do you do for night nappies?

I have never changed eitherr of mine overnight, and they are both in washables! (I use loads of libners etc)

It's not worth waking them unless they poo IMHO

Nemoinapeartree · 24/11/2006 12:56

DD stays in the same one until she wakes up. She sleeps from 6.30pm -8am in the same nappy. Have never changed unless she has woken up and it has been obviously in need of a change.

DS stays in the same one, unless hes actually woken up and I think he might need a change... hes never pooped at night, and now rarely wees.

Ive never changed nappies o/n unless they are dirty or getting full enough that they might leak. It wakes them up too much.

Twiglett · 24/11/2006 12:58

only change a baby if he's done a stinky poo that has woken him up

DingdongMegaLegsonhigh · 24/11/2006 12:59

Same here - all night in a thick night time. prefold with fleece liner. They way a tonne when you pick them up in the morning though

tribpot · 24/11/2006 13:00

I've found Moltex to be the best (dispie) for overnight, ds has never had a problem with them (unless some other cause like dodgy tummy). Just let your little one sleep, enjoy the peace, aahhhh.

UniSarah · 24/11/2006 19:34

12-13 hours in a bumble. he wees less now he wakes less. when tiny and waking lots he was chamged at 11pm so only did about 8 hours. Stopped bothering when the 1st nappy was bone dry several nights in a row.

DS stays all night 8pm-7am in same nappy (motherease+booster) and so far no leaks so we don't change him. He dosen't poo at night but if he did (and we noticed) we would change him though as I thinks its the combo of wee and poo that causes nappy rash probs (or so I've been told). The last time we had a leak and a night time nappy change was when we had a laundry crisis and DS was in a disposable (up till then I'd been convinced that they were better at night now I think, for us, cloth is more wee proof!)

littlepiggie · 24/11/2006 20:19

Ds goes 7-7 in the same nappy. He is in cloth nappies so we just put in lots of padding.

OldieMum · 24/11/2006 20:28

Same here as everyone else. HV advised us not to wake him up with nappy changes unless he'd done a poo.

vitality · 25/11/2006 00:01

great - it seems like they really do get easier as they get older - doing fewer wees and poos at night.

never change unless they poo, both in washables.

dd can sleep from 7.30pm to 8/9 in the morning and it's never been a problem

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 07/12/2006 01:47

i only change him in the night if he has pooed and that is only if it wakes him or he has a feed which is rare and he sleeps 14 hours.

LRWG · 07/12/2006 15:29

Do paper liners help keep them feeling drier or do I need fleece for that?

WeWishUAMerryXmasNANappyNewYr · 08/12/2006 00:41

you need fleece. they are very cheap and easy to make.
