Do you keep all outgrown clothes

My dd is 18 months and so far I've kept most clothes just in case we have another child. But it seems I'm forever putting stuff away in loft and wondering am I just wasting time, there's so much put away already ?? When baby no 2 comes will most of it end up in the charity shop anyway??

Personally I would keep the nice/favourite bits and pass on/charity shop the rest.

The chances of baby number 2 being the same sex or born at the right time of year must be minimal! Plus baby/toddler clothes are not that expensive really so unless you are really cash strapped it wouldn't really be worth it imo.

We kept anything in good nick as we were planning no 2 anyway

We had a different sex and then any friends or family who went on to have babies we have given to them.

No harm keeping stuff if it's in the loft and not annoying you I say

I kept all of DC1's stuff for when we had DC2, then sifted through it all when I was pregnant and sent some stuff I didn't fancy keeping to the charity shop. Kept most of it though due to having another girl. I don't think it's a waste of time, saved us some money not having to buy so many clothes this time round. I think if you've got the space to store it then why not.

We got loads from cousins who's parents had used it for their kids so some was on its sixth use for dc1 and 13yrs old and it was great to have. We've used it for 2 dc and now have it in storage for who ever has the next baby.
Of couse some bits get thrown and some new bits get brought but it was really nice to have so much for free.

I know a couple whose DCs are 12 and 9. They have kept every single item of clothing which does seem bizarre.

We kept everything from dd1 (including handmedowns from her cousin). Dd2 is wearing the newer stuff with a few bits bought new but most of the original handmedowns are looking tired or are out of fashion now (8 years between cousin and dd2). Keep the good stuff and basics and top up as needed. Or keep everything and do the chucking later if it's easier.

I did keep my DS clothes for a while (he's 20 months now) but my house was getting over run with clothes! So, I've kept couple of special ones and his christening outfit and donated the rest.

We are not having any more children though so no one to save them for.

I also know someone who had girl then boy who traded all clothes with someone who had boy the girl. So worth it there.

We kept everything in decent condition. A lot of our stuff was quite unisex anyway.

I got pregnant with dc2 when dc1 was six months old. I have used most stuff again but actually got a lot of gifts.

Now I have to bin a lot of stuff as they are worn but I kept sentimental stuff and regifting some of the new stuff

I am not planning on dc3 but I will keep stuff just incase

I made some into memory cushions and bears, kept the stuff in decent nick and put some on Freecycle.
