My dd decided to have a tantrum outside my local shop today just because she dropped a little bit of chocolate on the floor and i wouldnt let her pick it up and eat it, it went on for ages with many passers by trying to intervene much to my embarassment i just wanted to bury my self,if i was at home i could have dealt with this, but outside is a different issue needless to say i will be keeping a low profile and stay at home and do no shopping or go out in disguse. sorry so long i just feel so embarassed about it all, my ds was nothing like as bad.

DS not quite 22 months. Recently: tantrum so bad in the hairdressers, I'm amazed he still has two eyes; shoe fitting in Clarks where you'd have thought the poor girl was trying to bind his feet (I mean, the SCREAMS ); jab at the doctor's (fair enough) but this was before anything was done. And that's without the screeching and tears at home because I've put on the wrong CD/DVD, got out the wrong book, am just generally wrong (he can't really speak yet, which doesn't I think help). No advice, just want to post some solidarity

My dd was the only one of my 3 who did this (who says girls are easier! tho she's lovely now)

Yes, agree with kama, we have all been there, and anyone staring just hasn't experienced it yet.

I recall DD lying on the floor in Sainsbury's adn screaming. I just wanted to run away and leave her. She did it from 18 mo IIRC. But she had stopped by the time she was 3!

My Ds was also like this from 18mnths and now a pretty chilled 3.4yrs. He had worst tantrums in public, I learnt to expect them (I hate being at home for long periods in the day so we went out anyway). Sometimes you can avoid them(distraction etc) sometimes try to just ride the storm. I thought it would never stop, but it did. J

hm...es was 18 month and was wonderful at throwing tantrums....longlasting ones, too....I mean, I could not even take him to MCD, as it was to embaressing, sigh!
Ms...about 18 month, too...but milder...BUT longer lasting in terms oh...he is now 4 and still has tantrums...sigh!
Ys...2+, started them sometimes this year, and when he has them is extreme, but inbetween he is rather placid, bless him...making it worse because people just can't believe that he would have tantrums...grr....
so, no matter what way they go through it, it is tough and will be embaressing...sigh!
Today we had major screaming tantrums because I dare't to buy ys (and ms) new shoes...but they both needed them as they were outgrown the old pair...now, ms loves getting new things...ys is rather obcessive about his htings and did not appreciate it all at all...sigh.......the disaproving looks peed me off more then ever today, because, I stayed calm and just got on with it....but obviously that is just as wrong as trying to settle the unsettlebale youngster or getting angry with them...so, for me it's official for sure...no matter what you do or how you react...you will get those disapproving looks anyway, sigh!
