Is the theatre too noisy for a newborn?

I want to take DD1 to see Ben and Holly at the theatre next week. We've been to see Peppa before and it was lots of toddlers shouting and singing so I'm not concerned about disturbing anyone else!

I will need to take 3 week old dd2 who is ebf so can't be left with someone else.

Would you think it is too noisy for my new baby?

No I think the baby is likely to sleep or feed through the whole thing.

I took DC2 as a newborn/baby many times. Never had a problem, he either slept or gazed around. He loves the theatre now, at 3yo, and will happily sit transfixed through long shows aimed at older children, so probably something to be said for starting them young! We got two trips in during DH's paternity leave and DC2 slept through both of them.

My tips for a theatre trip by yourself with a toddler and a newborn:

1. Book an aisle seat.
2. If possible, leave the buggy at home and use a sling/backpack combo for baby and bits. Trying to reclaim the buggy afterwards is a nightmare at the best of times, trying to do so whilst not losing the toddler and having at least one arm tied up with a newborn who can't support their head is definitely one of the middle circles of hell, at least. That said, I'm used to Central London theatres - may be different if you're at a regional one with its own car park etc.

Definitely go! If it were the royal opera house with a very formal ballet you would be struggling, but ben and holly will be wonderful for your little one and I am sure your baby will sleep all the way through. Have a plan B in mind if the baby does become unsettled. Are you going with someone else? If you need to leave your seat it would be good to have someone else to care for your older child. Have fun!
