Pram problem

Hiya,

we have a problem with our 9 week old son and his pram. Whenever we want to put him into his pram he starts crying and screaming so that going for walks is a nightmare. He only calms down when we pick him up and carry him. We do have a sling which we use but especially longer walks it would be nice to be able to use the pram.
It does not matter whether he is awake or asleep when we put him in, within seconds he is off.
I do not even attempt to put him in his pram at home during the day when he sleeps as I can guarantee he will wake up very quickly.

He has plenty of room in it, maybe that is the problem?

Thank you in advance for help and suggestions!

Both my children were like this until they were about 3 months old. It always helped me to remember that they'd been curled up in a nice cosy, warm place with lots of reassuring noises for the last 9 months so why would they want to be on their tod in a pram with loads of room around them? I used a sling until they got too heavy most of the time and weaned them onto the pram gradually. It was the same indoors, they wanted to be attached all the time. I only graduated to the cot and the pram gradually and used an electronic swing some of the time with dd when she was indoors as I really couldn't have her attached the whole time. There are a lot of dedicated sling wearers on mn if you need advice. Like everything with children it is just a phase and he'll get used to being unattached from you but some babies seem to need a bit more time than others.......

Have you tried swaddling?
Maybe he needs to feel more secure?

I know you're not supposed to, but I used to tilt the pram seat up a bit from birth. It seemed to make them a lot more comfy.

Thanks for all the replies!
I hope J was "just" cold, put loads of clothes on him the last couple of days and left the hood thing a bit open and he was fine and fast asleep within minutes without moaning.
