When to get rid of the dummy?

Dd is 2 in a couple of weeks she only has her dummy for sleeping and when very tired in lead up to bedtime.
I'm not sure when and how to get rid of it totally. She is a crap sleeper and I worry that taking it away now will make her worse, but if she ever gets better at sleeping and then we take it away I don't want her to regress and her sleeping to suffer.
She also shares a room with her older sister so I'm aware of her being disturbed. Any advice?

I found my two slept better once the dummy was gone as they didn't wake up to find it when it had fallen out. It was spring time and there was a birds nest outside the window so I said the mama bird needed the dummies for her chicks. No problems Smile

Wait till she's got a cold and finds it difficult to breathe through her nose. Taking the dummy away at night will "make it better" Smile

My sister said her daughter accidentally bit her dummy, made a hole, and it made it harder to suck. She said she then didn't want it anymore (she didn't buy another one).
But does she ask for her dummy when she goes to bed? If not, see if she will go to bed without it.
I forgot my son's blanket when I went away Shock but bought him one with a similar material, he didn't want it, but soon feel asleep without a blanket.

I got annoyed with dd3 who is nearly 3 and went in bin yesterday. She tried to fishit out but not sure if finality of it all made her accept it was gone. She didn't cry or ask for it after that. Fingers crossed she'll be ok tonight as her speech is being affected

Lonz - she does ask for her dummy but will have a think about the suggestions. Thanks
