My son is obsessed with cleanliness, he is forever washing his hands and shouts and screams at his younger sister who is 9 to do the same calling her a "dirty bitch" and "disgusting cow" etc and actually standing behind her whilst she washes her hands making sure she does it properly getting more and more angry by the second. If anyone goes in his drawers he goes mad that his clothes have been touched and will often react violently throwing the contents of the drawers all over his room. A few weeks ago I put some of his brother's socks in his drawer by accident and he went mad and throw the actual drawer down the stairs and I had to then buy him a whole new drawer of underwear as he refused to wear anything that was in the drawer when the socks were put in ever again. Last year he smashed up his bike as he rode through a puddle and got a bit of dirt on his trousers, he then attacked me when I tried to intervene.

could this be autism?

sounds like compulsive obsessive disorder to me but im no expert ,can you pinpoint when this started or has he always been like this ?

Is he being bullied ? just sounds like hes venting alot of anger at 'safe' people ,whats his behaviour like at school ,with friends ? has he done this to anyone ,like a friend who came for tea for example or is it only family members?

He is clearly very distressed/stressed and I think your first port of call should be your GP to get referred for some appropriate help. Also, talk to his teacher asap to see what his behaviour is like at school. I do hope you get some help and support soon.

Blackfeet, you need to see your GP. I have an 11yr old DS too but he is the complete opposite.

yes - i agree
maybe you could ask him to curb his language
