Very hairy newborn girl

The first thing i noticed after my daughter was born was her hairy forehead. It was very distressing but i became even more distressed when i saw her hairy back, shoulders, arms, thighs and ears. My mum says i shouldn't worry as the hair will disappear soon. However, i keep thinking about it all the time. The midwives who visit us always comment on it expecting me to make a joke but i just ignore those comments. i just imagine my poor baby carrying all this fur throughout her life. One pediatrician said it's because of my hormones so i blame myself now. I also thought could it be because of pregnacare multivitamin which contains biotin - a supplement which improves hair and nails. I'd appreciate it if you shared your experience with me. Does that hair really disappear and when?

Oh how cute! My son was like this and I was so sad when he lost it. It makes them look so tiny, snuffly and new x

My DD was furry too. I called her my little peach Grin

Don't worry it will disappear! My beautiful DD was born with dark hair on her shoulders and back, but it all went by the time she was 2 months old.

I found/find it super cute ds is 20months and has no hair now but looked like a monkey at birth (hairy face back belly etc, wide face, flat nose and brown colouring).
dd is 3 months now and although hairier is not so monkey looking! Its a shame tothink it will be gone soon.

Btw i didnt take vitamins.

Of course it disappears. That's why the midwives joke and the dr mentioned your hormones (adult woman with body hair). Little baby girls also have a "period" often after birth, too - again this is mum's hormones. As they are no longer sharing mums blood, it all settles down after a while.

Also all babies in the womb are entirely coated in hair for a while. It's called lenugo. Some are born with the remains of it especially if a little early.

Good health is reflected in nails and hair - no vitamin pill can make someone grow hair that wasn't genetic.

My DD was so hairy that I referred to her as my little gorilla. The midwife told me off Blush

My brother looked like a monkey when he was born....and my niece ( his daughter ) did too. My brother still looks like a monkey, my niece does not. ?
