Flying with a Bugaboo Cameleon

How do you find air travel with the Cameleon?
I'm buying one for my pfb and will be flying fairly regularly.
Is it easy to fold/transport etc?
Also is the ginormous travel bag necessary?
Thanks!

I'd get a cheap pushchair off Facebook second hand for travelling as they do get bashed about a bit.
I flew recently and the less stuff the better as sometimes there is steps down to where the planes are. Although I have 2 small children so had luggage, hand luggage, car seats etc as well. Go as light as possible if on your own would be my tip.

Flying with such an expensive pram that folds in to two parts wouldn't be much fun. I'd recommend getting a stroller too and if you must take it then check it with your luggage/car seat. I'd also recommend a sling for the airport, so much easier and less stressful whether you are flying alone or with someone else.

If you will be regularly flying to somewhere like a parents house I would look at a cheap buggy for there and a car seat as they can get really damaged on planes.

Our bugaboo lost a wheel on a flight so I would recommend getting the travel bag. Or a cheap stroller. Sling is handiest for airport

It's not about size, as we have hate-checked our Baby Jogger City Mini Double for our twins.

It's more about how easy it is to fold, and how precious you are about it getting absolutely battered.

If you're travelling a lot, I would get the Babyzen YoYo without hesitation. You can actually take it into the cabin and put it in the overhead locker - this means you definitely have it when you land. Whereas even if you gate-check a stroller, there is actually no guarantee of getting at back at the arrivals gate - they usually come to you at the baggage carousel instead.

Sorry, GATE-checked!

We have a Joolz Day which we bought a Bugaboo case for as Joolz don't make their own. You can take a 2 piece pram all the way to the gate - they ask at check in if it's one piece of two and just give you two luggage tags for it. We've also taken the pram and the travel case all the way to the gate and then packed it up just at the aircraft. Not easy to do if you're on your own with a baby though so a sling would be a must.
