Gosh soooooooo grumpy and emotional!! Oldest far worst. Honestly I'm seriously thinking of upping my hours as they seem to hate me picking them up and would prefer to go to after school club :(

How old are they?
I found mine were always starving so needed something to eat straight away. give them a snack and a drink, leave them alone for half an hour and then see of there is any improvement.

Yes, used to have that too.
I would take a sandwich & drink to school pick up. It helped a great deal

Yy to food, especially carbs. A jam sandwich at the school gate was better than fruit to get us home without tears, and then crumpet, an apple and a large drink as they walked in through the door. Smile

Thank you ladies, I did bring snacks but they were not the right ones apparently! Have now found 'right' snacks and moods are better!

I agree, feed them something immediately. Then half an hour of tv or reading a story to calm down after achool. Usually deals with the worst of the grumpiness.

We either have to have calm time or the complete opposite and they have half an hr in the Garden on the trampoline, some days really hard to figure out which it is

normal here too.

6yo dd needs crisps in her hands within moments of coming out the door, although 8yo ds is more mellow. then we play at the park for as long as we can.
