I'm not sure I understand, once my babies could sit I would just sit them on the floor.

WibblyWobblyHead · 23/04/2015 11:03

She didn't say her baby could sit up unsupported yet though.

My baby's only now learning to sit unsupported and I've been using a bumbo type seat for him cos he hated laying in the bouncer and likes to be upright looking around Smile X

DDs is similar age and spends a lot of time just sat on a playmat on the floor with toys around her

An inflatable nest, I got mine on amazon for £20 and used it from around 4 months until 11months, tbh I only moved it then as I want him to foget it is his before his sister goes into it in a few months.

I have a reef activity centre from argos and a baby to toddle rocker

A lot of people use the galt nests or last time a propped up a lot of cushions

I understand totally, it's frustrating for them.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 23/04/2015 11:13

Ohh, I see.

If they're trying to get out the bouncer they're probably almost there! Might be an awkward few weeks of propping them up with lots of cushions.

My DD2 is around the same age. She sits on the floor. She gets frustrated but I see that as positive. It gives her the motivation to try new things with her body.

Annabanana1812 · 23/04/2015 11:18

Sorry forgot to say lo can not sit upright on their own yet and can not crawl so gets really frustrated on the floor as rolls onto belly then spend the rest of the time crying as unable to crawl so only lasts 5 minutes. We sit lo on the bouncer while cooking or eating outr dinner and for naps. But lo is now climbing out, had hands on the floor yesterday and bum almost out of the straps and cried for help Shock it's really just something to plonk lo in for short periods during the day. Or should I just stick with it keeping a close eye for the next few weeks until able to sit up

A sling? I use one to keep my toddler away from the baby when I am busy in the house.

furryleopard · 23/04/2015 11:27

Mine is 6 and a half months and she likes sitting in my breastfeeding cushion on the sofa or floor when I'm with her, or she has a newborn to toddler chair that she will sit in, or I sometimes click her into her pram to watch me in the kitchen (she likes that as DH zooms her round the kitchen). At Grandma's house we use cushions to prop her up.

Mine doesn't like the highchair either as she's still a bit small for it. It's a sort of inbetween stage as she's quite confident sitting when supported or on my knee but not on her own.

squizita · 23/04/2015 12:51

Mine is 7 months. She has a bouncy chair and high chair and an inflatable ring ... I don't like to just sit her on the floor as we still have the odd keel over! The play ring is ace, so light and with textures/play bits so you can use it in any room if you need 2 hands.
