He's nearly 3, there hasn't been a good uninterrupted few days until now to have a go at cracking this, and I'm now feeling really guilty that I've left it so long. He's bright but stubborn, and am dreading it. Wise words of reassurance needed please!

If was day one today here. We had 9 wees on the toilet and 3 accidents. To be honest I can't believe how often he wees!

It's shit, utterly shit. Get some wine for for lunchtime

Haha-I read the first bit of your post and thought 'that's quite positive' and then saw the last sentence!!

It's more the being stuck at home all day I'm worried about... ShockShockShock

Good luck.
My dd is 2.5 and we tackled it a few weeks ago. She got it after the second day. We've maybe had about 5-6 'accidents since then so she's doing really well. It is stressful but I think the older they are the more ready they are tbh. X

I'm delighted that he woke up at 5.45, because I really wanted to start potty training grumpy... It's going to be SUCH A LONG DAY.

Leaving it long is good! DS was 2.8 and picked it up quickly, much more quickly than children I know who started younger. He didn't really get it at first (just held in his wee all day) and we stopped after 3 days. A week later he asked for pants and that was it.

3 accidents so far...

We had one success and one poo accident; lovely!

Oh god I'm starting tomorrow. Ds has just turned 3 and this will be the second attempt. He gets it and is capable but really doesn't want to. I've tried bribery, praise etc. He did tip some of his water in the potty when I was out of the room then said he'd had a wee so could he have a lollipop so I have no doubt that he gets it!

This time around I've got a sticker chart and chocolate buttons ready. I'm actually off work today but I've taken him to the cm so I can have a day to mentally prepare myself for 3 days stuck in the house with a stubborn toddler Blush

Good luck everyone!

Losing will to live already. Nappies are soooo easy... I have come to the conclusion that I am a horribly lazy parent...!

Oh teacher i'm reading with interest because this will be us soon. DS1 is 2.8 and glad i'm not the only one who has left it this long. Unfortunately, recent arrival of DS2 (3 weeks old) means when we get round to it, it's going to be an extra layer of horrible. Good luck!

My son was the same. Wee was not such a problem to crack but Poo on the other hand... For about 4 weeks we left the house armed with spare clothes (and a plastic bag- very important), and now, we are done! Whoosh! Just like that, and.... Drum rolls... He is dry at night too!

Arm yourself with stickers. They love it as rewards.
