just wondering if anyone else has had an early teether. ds2 is 10 weeks. hes constantly drooling, sucking and chewing his fist and rubbing his ear. a couple of people have mentioned in the past week that he looks like it may be the start of teething Sad

Mine started symptoms about this age but only actually got the teeth just before turning 6 months. Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear but it is very common for them to get the symptoms when the teeth start moving around in the gums but it can still take months before they cut through. If symptoms get bad, just lots of teething toys to chew on, Ashton & Parsons powders are quite good, cooling things for the gums and calpol if it gets really bad when they are actually cutting.

thanks for the quick reply. I'm near sure ds1 was exactly the same. symptoms from 3 months but not cutting until 6 months. have been giving nelsons teethers and a small amount of calpol on Friday night as he wouldn't settle to sleep. Thanks for the reassuranceSmile

My baby has been showing these signs for months. She doesn't have any teeth yet and she is almost nine months old now.

My baby started doing all this in October. She still shows signs of teething on and off, but still no teeth (9.5 months old)!
Some babies are born with teeth, some get them at only a few weeks/months old, some well after a year - so I've been told.
Sorry, not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure. He could get teeth early, but he may not. We give calpol when DD is really suffering, bonjela and teetha granules help too.
