Your best buys for 6-18 months?

We bought minimum 'stuff' for newborn dd, but she's now 7 months and really mobile so the tiny baby stage is over and we probably need loads of older baby stuff. There's a nearly new sale coming up so I'd to stock up on essentials for phase 2 but apart from a stairgate I can't really think what we need!

What did you find really helpful from 6 months?

Good baby carrier- ergo, Manduca or Tula will be worth their weight in gold and last until 2 at least.
Portable highchair/booster seat.
Little board books- tiny ones for car/change bag, bigger for at home.
A decent baby Lunchbox/bag you are prepared to carry food around in.
Camelbak water bottle.

One of these! No wrestling with zips / fasteners / velcro, no need to remove in a carseat like a padded snow suit, so versatile, and built in hat! It's the best baby item I've ever bought (3DC!)

My 13 month is into
Stacking cups
Shape sorter
Picture books with flaps
Hand puppets
Duplo
-CBeebies-

I didn't buy anything at all for weaning, I just used ordinary bowls and teaspoons but have just bought him his first little cutlery set and plate with a tiger on it.

Something else I'd recommend is a gro-blind. Having a really dark room never seemed to matter until 7+ months.
