I think DS might be outgrowing his baby bath, what's a good bath for 10 months plus?

The big one? Confused

1lov3comp5 · 04/04/2015 07:37

Why dont you just put him in the normal bath? Both of mine went into it once they were sitting up independently. I'm amazed you got him to 10 months in the baby one!

If you have a proper bath I would get a bath seat and use it in the big bath.

FusionChefGeoff · 04/04/2015 07:38

Bloody hell we were out of the baby bath by 2 months!! The normal bath but just not very full.

Munchkin duck bath. I still use it with 18 month old as it used far less water than the big bath and she likes it.
You can get it from Tesco, Amazon etc.

That link didn't work sorry. Google munchkin duck bath.

I never used a baby bath. I put about and inch or so of water in the bottom of the big bath and laid DD on a towel until she could sit up, then just sat her in the big bath in waist deep water. Much easier, also no extra object to store and deal with.

Tiredstressed · 04/04/2015 07:41

Normal bath here - we have a bath mat thing to stop her sliding about too much.

YoureAMeanGirl · 04/04/2015 07:46

DDhad a duck bath and she absolutely loved it (til my sodding Rottweiler sat in it and popped it).

I agree with other posters tho, try the big bath. DC may love all the splashing they can do Grin

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 04/04/2015 07:49

We used the normal bath here from 6 months when she was too big for the bath seat.

Roseybee10 · 04/04/2015 18:10

I always just took the babies in the bath with me.
Someone said a washing basket in the big bath once they can sit up is great coz it means their toys don't float away but they can sit independently.

IShallCallYouSquishy · 04/04/2015 21:08

DD sat in the baby bath in the big bath until she was 2 Blush She was very petite though.

DS went to sitting in the big bath at 6 months.

DIYandEatCake · 05/04/2015 06:17

We used the ikea baby bath til dd was 2.5 - it's huge. That was because we only had a walk in shower though and she hated showers. Weve got a proper bath now and ds has been in it since he could sit, in one of those bath seats to start with.

CurlsLDN · 05/04/2015 06:50

We just stopped using the baby bath seat with ds at 10 months. Definitely get a rubber bath mat for the big bath, he can sit, crawl and splash without slipping at all

slightlyinsane · 06/04/2015 09:34

I only had a baby bath for my 1st, the next 4 have always gone in the normal bath. I can now sling both twins in together because they can sit.

wheresthelight · 06/04/2015 10:38

I have a Mothercare one for dd (19 months) as we don't have a normal bath and a shower isn't always practical. I agree though if you have a normal bath don't bother with a baby one and just use a bath seat or let him sit uo on his own if he can

Artandco · 06/04/2015 10:40

Regular bath. It's so much more fun as they can swim about with your help. Get in with them is even easier

luckiestgirlintheworld · 06/04/2015 16:01

My DS has been crawling about in the big bath since about 3 months. (Obviously just laying at first in shallow water, then sitting up when he learnt that, and now crawls and toddles around.) He loves it.
