Could you give me a rough idea of time tables and hours spent on placement/at uni for the first year?

Would like to start this course but need to work out how viable it is going to be around the children.

Thanks!

I am in my 2nd year.

We spend 37.5 hours a week when we are on placement (basically full time) but I pick my hours. This week at uni I was/will be in Monday 9-12, Tuesday 9-4 and Thursday 9-12, this semester is quite light though. Generally assume you will be in 9-4 4 days a week.

What uni are you applying to? It very much depends on the uni.

Hi Becca

Im doing the degree and am uni A LOT!! but at my Uni there is a family friendly DipHE course which is 10-2 each day and same hols as schools ( except for when you are on placement- then its 37.5 hrs)
a lot of unis offer fairly family friendly Dip courses- best to check your local one as each one differs.

So which one is the better one to do? I've applied via UCAS for the degree ones and via NMAS for the diploma ones? Ideally, I'd like to do the degree one because I don't want to have to convert my diploma into a degree. I am too old for that! I just want to get done and start working.
