About to take DD and DS (3) to a birthday party.

We have been training DS since Sunday afternoon - a couple of minor accidents.

This party is going to be 2 hours long and it's going to take about 45 minutes to get there. Given that the accidents are usually when he's playing and the party is in a soft-play centre, should I:-

(a) leave him in pants and just take spare clothes

(b) put him in a pull-up for now

Either way, I'll have to nag him to use the loo - he's not telling me whether he needs to go or not yet.

TIA

pull ups [sorry

foxtRottingCorpse · 31/10/2006 10:42

pull ups, let you all relax.

Caribbeanqueen · 31/10/2006 10:42

Pull-ups would be easier as if he wees in a soft play area they'll probbaly have to close it for a while.

If pants, you have to drag him away to the loo every 15 minutes

Hmm I would say pants and nag him every 15 mins. I would not have started potty training 2 days before a soft play party though. But wonderful thing - advice after the event!

Bozza - it's half term here - seemed as good a time as any. What am I supposed to do - become a hermit?

hope the party went well x

MerlinsBeard · 31/10/2006 11:50

i would do the pull up thing too but tell him he is still to come to you if he needs the loo. we havd day 3 or 4 off when we were potty training, nice to have a break

Ok - wore the bizarre combination of pants with a pull-up over just in case!!!

But it worked - no accidents!!!!

Sounds great jones. I did stay in for the first four days of training both mine (apart from school runs). Then sent them to nursery for the next 3. Then business as usual.
