Chemist or hospital emergency docs?

MIL says chemist but as he's so small I'm not sure if it needs to be seen by a doctor?

Pretty sure the chemist can't give anything for under 2's with it. When my daughter had it the told me to just bathe her eyes with warm water and cotton wool every few hours. Use different Cotton wool on each side. It cleared quickly.

My little one had endless trouble with this when he was born. We went to the doctors and had to get a gel rather than the drops as they didn't work too well. Cleared up brilliantly with medication but don't be fobbed off with the suggestion of simply wiping with salt water. It really doesn't work if it's proper conjunctivitis!

Mine had it quite badly when he was 8 months. Maybe I was being a bit PFB about it but I found it quite alarming seeing both his eyes all gummed up so I took him to the walk-in clinic because it was a Saturday and I was visiting my parents so not in my home city.

The doctor on call said I'd done the right thing and prescribed drops which cleared it up in 24 hours.

I would do the same thing again!

I think I'm going to take him to the walk in, he's miserable and not himself and I don't think cotton wool and water is going to cut it Confused
I was worried I was being too PFB!!

By any chance are you still producing milk? Breastmilk is a fantastic substance to use in the eyes, it will clear it up and ease the pain he might be in. Just a thought. Milk in general is thought to be a good to use. My MIL uses it in the care home she works in.

Sorry to be contradictory but again I really don't believe the breast milk thing. We tried it...no luck on any occasion. Let's be honest, it's an infection that needs medication. Get to the doctors and you will feel so much better for having done so.

I just went to the pharmacy. He actually did this face -> Confused
And told me to go to the emergency docs at the hospital so I'm on my way now

bictoria I was going to suggest the same thing.

I have used Breastmilk on a few occasions and its worked wonders.
