Pixel Chix

Just wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge/experience of Pixel Chix? My dd has wanted one since before last xmas and I refused to get one based on the fact that I thought it a bit 'faddy'. But she still wants one and I'm starting to think it would be better to get her something for xmas that the really wants instead of something I think more suitable. But I'm really reluctant to get something that only has 5 minutes worth of entertainment value....does anyone know anyone that has one? What do they really think of it?

DD has 2 story house (£35). She got it 3 weeks ago and plays with it for about 10 mins a day. It is VERY expensive, I think a £12.99 tamogotchi offers as much if not more play value. Perhaps start with the £15 car and see how she gets on with that. Once you have done it's hair etc a few times it all seems the same.

Thanks jellybeans. That's pretty much what I suspected! How old is your DD? Mine is 7. We have such a large family that my children get so much stuff at xmas and it's really hard trying to think of something to get that they'll enjoy and use but that doesn't cost the earth! Oh, the joy that christmas brings.....

DD age 5 has the house and the car. The car has limited entertainment value, and we couldnt work out how to get the girl to go into the house like it does on the adverts. The house does more and if you play with it regularly you get extra "accessories" like clothes or pets. My Mum bought it for her in August and she still plays with it.

But she also has three swords and a bow and arrow and a caterpillar in a jar by her bed , so she may not be the best example to go by!

My DD's are 10 and 7. 10 yo got it for birthday. She has all the extras (guitar, pets etc) but they do same thing every time. She does seem to like it as does DD2, perhaps a younger child would find it more long term play value though.
