Hi
I have a ds who is 2.5 years and since he has been about 14 months he has co-slept with me. Well I'm now 5 months pregnant and wondering about what will happen when the new baby arrives.
I have the option of putting ds back into his room, putting the baby in the other bedroom and using a monitor or all of us in the same room with the baby in the moses basket. But the baby is due 6 weeks before my ds goes to nursery so I don't know how practical it is for him to share a room with a newborn.
My son has had his problems (autistic tendencies, terrible sleeper, not talking) Although thankfully now not an issue it has meant that we have a very strong bond I guess I'm frightened of breaking

If you think your ds can adapt to sleeping in his own room ok then I would move him out and have the newborn in your room for the first 6 months.
If not then maybe cosleep with ds and have the new baby in a bedside cot. That way you can respond quickly to the new baby to limit waking your ds. I have no idea if this would work in practicality though!
