how realistic is it to have two young children happily share a bedroom?

Ds will be two when the new one arrives, will be in with us for a bit obviously but we need to make house decisions about the kind of space we'll need with two children (currently a small two bed single storey). Will sharing work? Don't known the sex of the upcoming bub. Do we really need a three bed to keep everyone happy?

Any experience appreciated

ds 8 and dd 5 have shared since dd was about 18m. she is getting her own room later this year when she's 6 though I suspect they
l carry on sharing for a little while longer.
I've sometimes come in to find them asleep holding hands :o

Mine have shared since DS was 7 months old. DD was 2.5 years at the time. They're now 3&5.

DS was a crap sleeper but DD quickly learned to sleep through the crying. She'd sleep through an air raid now!

There's 2.5 yr between my ds' they shared from when ds2 was 7 months. Fortunately they are both good sleepers so never woke each other up, even if 1 was ill in the night the other never woke up.
