Co-sleeping cot and travelling

Those who used a co-sleeping cot, what did you do when on holiday?

Was thinking about getting a FabiMax cot as mentioned somewhere on here, but as we'll be going away when baby is small I'm wondering whether a Chicco next 2 me would work better (if it will fit on our bed) as it will fold up - but it's significantly more expensive.

Just wondered whether anyone had any other ideas of what to do on holiday if baby is used to being right next to you?

On holiday I just put the baby in the bed and hoped they didn't fall out.

And thinking about it on all three occasions there was a moses basket/travel cot available, so if I got worried in the middle of the night or needed to move him I put him in there.

Thanks. Bit anxious about just putting the baby in our bed as it may be tricky to make it properly safe in a caravan, though I guess I could send DH into the spare bed in DS's room and just hold on tight to the baby. We've already booked a travel cot (booked before I started to think about co-sleepers) but I'm not sure how well baby would settle in one if (s)he's used to being right next to me.

I think you are overthinking a bit :) Go, try the travel cot, if baby doesn't settle, settle them in with you, try transferring to the travel cot when asleep (or not), settle them in the pram and then let them sleep in the carrycot - you'll work something out when faced with it.

Just because you plan to co sleep or partially co sleep it does not mean that you have to 100% commit to doing that all the time every single night, sleep, situation. Babies can actually be a lot more flexible than you think. And if the baby is inflexible then it won't matter how you plan to sleep anyway because they will have other ideas!

Grin I probably am being a bit pfb despite this being my 2nd! Have decided to get the fabimax cot as planned then maybe get a cheap sleep positioner which we can take away and use wherever makes sense at the time. I guess at 2 months I won't be getting much sleep anyway no matter what I do!
