Bugaboo Bee uncomfortable for older baby?

I've got a bugaboo bee and love how small and light it is and how easy it is to pack it down and get it into the car. I also had no issues with it when my son was smaller and we used the cocoon. But now that he's bigger (8 months but 11kg!) and outgrown the cocoon, he just always seems uncomfortable in the seat... I feel like there's little protection and his little arms are always dangling outside of the buggy...

What do I do? Buy another buggy? When did you move over to a Maclaren kind of stroller?

(Just please bear in mind he still naps quite a bit so any buggy would need to be comfortable enough for that)

Mine were happy in it. In fact my 3.5 year old would go in it now if I let her. The larger muff is pricey, but cheaper than a new buggy if you are worrying?

I have a big toddler who is now 2years old and used bugaboo bee...I thought my ds outgrew it long time ago as his head was popping up from the top for quite a bit... But It is only recently that I have found out you can actually pull up the top of the seat up a bit so that it can be more comfortable for the bigger baby. How stupid am I! If you have tried that, please just ignore me... If not, then probably give it a try? With the arms, no good advice, as my ds has found his way to pull his arms out and swing left and right long time ago,,, and I could do nothing about it...

Hmm.... There was a phase when DD looked a bit slumped in the Bee, and I slightly wished for a more buckety seat like the Cameleon's to support her better. This might have been around the 8 month mark I suspect?

However that phase quickly passed and it's been absolutely great for her as a toddler. Once your DS gets mobile he will have more in the way of tummy muscles and will be able to sit better, it won't be long. I've never been bothered about where her arms are tbh!

We did get a sheepskin footmuff which provided good warmth and weather protection in the winter and I guess also provided more padding to the seat.

Maclaren seats are not comfy or supportive at all IMO (and there is no suspension!) so I def wouldn't switch to a maclaren for that reason.

Thanks all for the advice.

Moonprayer I might see if extending the seat helps, it might make him more comfortable.

Minipie you are probably right that this is just a temporary thing, I can imagine it becoming comfortable again once my son can sit upright a bit more confidently!
