Hi just wondering when everyone else moved their dc from the likes of their moses basket to their cot. Thanks

I had a bednest for DD which was supposed to run up to 6m but I felt it was too restrictive at 3m. There wasn't enough space to stretch out her arms/legs without hitting the sides. So we moved her to a cot at 3.5m & she's sleeping more comfortably since. Loads of space to roll about!

DD went from her Moses basket to a travel cot at 5m, then into her cot in her room at 6.5m.

Ds is 4.5m atm and he is still in a crib in our room, but he has to stay in our room as we only have a two bed. I will get dd a single bed soon and move the cotbed (sides off for her), into our room for ds within the next month or so.

DD was in the cot from birth. DS was never in his cot no matter how much I tried.

Thanks. Seriously considering moving ds2 into the cot in r room but he's only 5 weeks. Hes a terrible sleeper during the day but we had made progress on Saturday then yesterday he hardly slept except for 10 or 20 mins random intervals then last night was so unsettled wakening and crying every half hour or so until 3am bearing in mind hed had a feed at 1.30am. No position pleased him. Part of me does think that this may have been down to his snuffly nose. Will mayb try and persevere a bit longer.

DS went into his cot at 8 weeks. We were sleeping in his room (double bed in nursery) rather than the other way round so there really wasn't an advantage to leaving him in his moses basket. He slept much better in his cot though.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 09/03/2015 14:40

What's his favourite sleeping position. Despite what all the books suggest, some babies like to spread eagle. Which is hard in a moses basket.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 09/03/2015 15:10

DD was in her Moses basket until 8 months, and she's not small Blush. She just hated the space of the cot! Wish we could have kept her in the Moses basket forever, her sleep has been horrific since (she's 16 months now).

RachieS1986 · 09/03/2015 15:26

He sleeps on his side. Neither of my 2 have ever slept on their back. Ds1 slept on his front and slept through the night from 5 weeks I however did not. I just wondered of hed be more comfortable with the thicker mattress and extra room. He is a big enough baby at over 10lb may even be 11 now hes near the full of the basket.

Thicker mattress definitely helps! As they get heavier they tend to press down a crib/Moses basket mattress as it is too thin! Must be uncomfortable for them...my DD slept 7 hours at a stretch the first night on the new mattress!
Now she's stretching the 4th month sleep regression well into the 5th month - but that's a different story!!

7 weeks for DS as he flung his arms out all night and hit the sides of crib and Moses basket! We had room for it in our room so went for it. He slept much better.

that was exactly my thoughts Artistic. we have a wedding at the end of the month so both dc will be staying with granny so il need the moses basket for that but think we'll get the cot back down after that. Thanks guys.
